: about me :

I am a mother of 11-year-old twin boys who decided to celebrate her mid-life crisis by going back to school to obtain a graduate degree in order to teach full-time at the college level.

I love to make things... from sewing pillows and purses to crocheting scarves and sweaters. I even restored a 1969 Camaro once. I also love to teach. I find that I learn from the students as much as they learn from me and am inspired by their fresh outlook on life and the creative energy that they bring to the classroom.

For my undergraduate studies I went to The University of Cincinnati and obtained a BS in Graphic Design from the College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning. I am currently a graduate student at the Kent State University working toward my MFA in Visual Communication Design.

My favorite things are: to sew, read, crochet, embroider; to take things apart and put them back together again; hanging out with my boys and my husband, letterpress, screen printing... just to name a few. I am a lover of 'firsts' and will try pretty much anything at least once. When I find a spare moment, I enjoy watching movies and catching up on reading.

My favorite typeface(s) are Futura, Goudy, Archer and the lovely Mrs. Eaves. Helvetica Neue is my faithful side kick when all else fails me, and I have recently fallen in love with Univers.
